About The Position

Creating solutions for everything from dining and nutrition to facilities maintenance and rehabilitative services, Sodexo partners with government agencies and military organizations to improve people’s quality of life and make a positive impact. Sodexo is seeking a General Manager for the United States Marine Corps at Marine Corps Bridgeport in Bridgeport, CA. The General Manager will report directly to the District Manager and will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of all culinary operations for one of it's Mess Halls. A successful candidate will have knowledge of food production along with the ability to cook. The United States Marine Corps has high quality level food service expectations, and this account will require delivery of exceptional quality food service. Within Government Services, contract compliance is critical; food safety and customer service are high priorities. Extensive safety audits and customer surveys are conducted at each unit on a weekly basis. Sodexo offers innovative and healthy concepts while keeping to a strict profit and loss financial statement. Requirements

  • have a work history demonstrating strong employee engagement and leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively
  • have a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance
  • Have a food production background
  • can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and have a passion for a high level of customer service
  • prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
  • Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years

Nice To Haves

  • have experience managing staff in a union environment, preferred
