About The Position

Makes repairs to the hospital, clinic, and hospital housing. Must be available for Emergency On-Call, on designated weekends, holidays, afterhours, and respond within 20 minutes.

Requirements

  • Must be available for Emergency On-Call, on designated weekends, holidays, afterhours, and respond within 20 minutes.
  • Must always be courteous, cooperative, and congenial.
  • Required to wear supplied designated uniform, be neat and clean
  • Must possess a current valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledgeable of federal, state and facility’s rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Follow defined infection control procedures.
  • Understands facility’s fire and disaster plan; follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Assists under supervision with HVAC system, electrical systems, and electrical equipment to ensure all is functioning properly.
  • Installs new equipment and systems, repairs and maintains current equipment as needed.
  • Maintains lighting fixtures, including replacement of light bulbs.
  • Repairing and or replacing several types of flooring.
  • Maintains grounds from rough grade to installation of sprinkler system, topsoil and the planting and care of greenery and shrubs.
  • Cleans drains and minor plumbing repair.
  • General storage of tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Maintains outside grounds in a neat and tidy manner. Summer: mowing, trimming of trees and shrubs, sprinkler system repair. Winter: snow and ice removal.
  • Construct, repair, and maintain wooden structures, such as furniture, shelving, etc.
  • Repair and replacement of piping, valves and fixtures in water and sewer systems as necessary.
  • Floor maintenance: sweep, mop, strip, wax, buff, and shampoo carpets.
  • Cooperates and communicates with staff to achieve department goals and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental relations, and public relations
  • Must always be courteous, cooperative, and congenial.
  • Required to wear supplied designated uniform, be neat and clean
  • Patient moving or lifting and emergency room assistance upon request.
  • Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
  • Knowledgeable of federal, state and facility’s rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Must possess a current valid driver’s license.
  • Follow defined infection control procedures.
  • Understands facility’s fire and disaster plan; follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies.
  • Attends meetings as required.
  • May be required to work as member of team.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Maintains and carries out all LCMC policies and procedures.
