About The Position

This position will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, assembly line systems, and other building systems.

Requirements

  • Must be able to drive a forklift.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, plumbing, electricity, and pneumatics.
  • Knowledge of minor forklift repair
  • Ability to complete basic mathematics functions.
  • Needs to be able to count accurately.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, safety material, and manuals used on the job.
  • Ability to identify and describe problems.
  • Ability to interpret and apply safety instructions provided orally or in writing to the job assigned.
  • Good mechanical skills
  • Work well with others
  • The employee is required to stand up to 8 hours a day while performing job duties.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds frequently, up to 50lbs occasionally.
  • Work overhead, stoop, squat, and bend repeatedly.
  • Have motor skills to operate power tools.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of lubrication systems, plumbing, welding, electrical, sheet metal, hydraulic, air systems, carpentry, millwright work, blueprint reading, minor hydraulic work.
  • Performs diagnostic trouble shooting and makes necessary repairs.
  • Moves, sets, erects, adjusts, dismantles, cleans, repairs, and replaces: welders, presses, machine tools, and conveyors, adjusts equipment for efficient operations, cleans and maintains plumbing on processing equipment.
  • Trouble shoots and maintains hydraulic systems, presses, welders, banders, shears, brakes, and tubing.
  • Tears down and overhauls hydraulic pumps, maintains, tests, and replaces electrical and electronic equipment such as rewiring or running new power lines, cleaning oiling, and calibrating instruments, dismantling defective controls, and installing new or rebuilt parts.
  • Observes all safety rules and keeps the workstation in order.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the organization.
