Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Sufficient experience to acquire a general knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment or a minimum of two years experience.
Years of experience determined by quality of assignments related to position responsibility.
Skills in verbal and written communication required.
Ability to operate mechanical equipment required.
Possess a license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Ability to operate mechanical and electrical tools.

Responsibilities

Maintain hospital appliance and equipment including:
repairs
light fixtures, ballast, switches and receptacles
beds, cords and control motors
toilets, sinks and plumbing
wheelchairs, stretchers, furniture addressographs and environmental services equipment
central vacuum system and pneumatic tubes
ice makers, water coolers, and hot waters systems and circulating pumps
Fills in for and performs within scope of ability, other employees job responsibilities are assigned including:
maintenance mechanic
electrician
plumber
air conditioning mechanic
plant operator
Requisitioning of supplies and maintain records and equipment
Perform other related duties assigned
