Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Sufficient experience to acquire a general knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment or a minimum of two years experience.
  • Years of experience determined by quality of assignments related to position responsibility.
  • Skills in verbal and written communication required.
  • Ability to operate mechanical equipment required.
  • Possess a license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to operate mechanical and electrical tools.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain hospital appliance and equipment including:
  • repairs
  • light fixtures, ballast, switches and receptacles
  • beds, cords and control motors
  • toilets, sinks and plumbing
  • wheelchairs, stretchers, furniture addressographs and environmental services equipment
  • central vacuum system and pneumatic tubes
  • ice makers, water coolers, and hot waters systems and circulating pumps
  • Fills in for and performs within scope of ability, other employees job responsibilities are assigned including:
  • maintenance mechanic
  • electrician
  • plumber
  • air conditioning mechanic
  • plant operator
  • Requisitioning of supplies and maintain records and equipment
  • Perform other related duties assigned
