About The Position

The General Maintenance position at Columbia Gear in Avon, MN, is a seasonal role under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager. Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Education.
• Ability to read and understand documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write standard documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

• Oil and grease machine tools according to written procedures.
• Keep inventory of oils.
• Drive forklift.
• Perform preventive maintenance work orders such as air filters, oil filters, hoist inspection, and way wipers.
• Determine if other maintenance is required and fill out maintenance request.
• Make minor mechanical repairs to machine tools and fabricate shielding.
• Work well independently, with little supervision.
• Report machinery defects or malfunctions.
• Clean machines.
