About The Position

The General Maintenance Worker performs a variety of general maintenance and repair tasks on facilities, equipment, and systems. This role requires practical knowledge across multiple trades to support safe, efficient, and functional operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Practical experience in general maintenance or multiple trades (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or similar).
  • Basic knowledge of building systems, repair techniques, and tools.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Experience in a government contract or industrial/maintenance environmentis preferred.
  • Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and systems across multiple trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and painting.
  • Replace or repair basic electrical components such as receptacles, switches, fixtures, and minor wiring.
  • Patch and repair walls and ceilings using plaster or compound.
  • Repair or replace plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, and water coolers.
  • Paint structures, equipment, and surfaces as needed for maintenance and upkeep.
  • Repair or replace concrete surfaces, including floors, steps, and sidewalks.
  • Replace damaged flooring, paneling, and ceiling materials.
  • Install and repair doors, locks, and hardware.
  • Replace brokenwindow panesand perform general facility repairs.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery to ensure proper operation.
  • Identifymaintenance issues and report repair needs to supervision.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
