General Maintenance Worker
About The Position
Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to support a government contract based at Mayport / Jacksonville, Florida. Summary: Performs duties described in the Service Contract Act Service Order GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER. May perform duties of other classifications that have a pay rate equal to or lower than the employee’s current rate. DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures and motors; using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings; repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets; painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks; replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles; hanging doors and installing door locks; replacing broken window panes; and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery. Performs all duties as described above and is proficient in the installation and repair of fences and fencing systems. Types of fencing to include, but not limited to, wooden; chain-link; barbed wire; and PVC. Additionally, had practical skills and knowledge (but not proficiency) in roof repair and the ability to patch small roof leaks. Performs other duties as requested.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years general maintenance prior experience
- Verifiable experience in Fence Installation
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
- US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
