About The Position
Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to support a government contract based in Jacksonville, Florida at Mayport. The position involves performing duties described in the Service Contract Act Service Order GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER. The worker may also perform duties of other classifications with an equal or lower pay rate. Work will be performed at MCSF Blount Island.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of general maintenance.
- Ability to use hand and power tools.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
- US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
Responsibilities
- Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
- Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
- Using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
- Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
- Painting structures and equipment.
- Repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
- Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles.
- Hanging doors and installing door locks.
- Replacing broken window panes.
- Performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Performs other duties as requested.
