About The Position

The Shipboard General Maintenance Worker performs various tasks to keep a vessel in good working order. This includes inspecting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural components. They may also handle routine tasks like painting, carpentry, and basic electrical repairs. The role requires practical skills, problem-solving abilities, and adherence to safety regulations. Key responsibilities may include: Inspecting and maintaining ship systems: This includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components. Performing routine repairs: This could involve fixing plumbing fixtures, electrical wiring, or structural damage. Troubleshooting issues: Identifying and resolving problems with shipboard equipment and systems. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations: Following established safety procedures and guidelines. Assisting with special projects: Contributing to maintenance and repair tasks as needed. Able to read installation drawings Able to assist the structural ship-fitting ● Education: Requires a High School Diploma or GED ●Experience: 1+ years of related experience in mechanical production, assembly or construction. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
