About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and dependable General Maintenance Worker to support ongoing facilities maintenance operations for commercial buildings located on a U.S. military installation. The successful candidate will perform a wide range of routine and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in general maintenance, preferably on commercial or government facilities.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to pass background check and meet eligibility for access to military installation.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and operate maintenance equipment.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods, work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to successfully pass as required a federal, state, or local government's background investigation
  • Apprenticeship for HVAC or Electrical
  • Must be to pass Department of Defense or HSPD-12 Zone D criminal background check

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10/30 certification.
  • Previous experience working on military installations.
  • Familiarity with DoD regulations or Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance duties including HVAC filter changes, light fixture replacements, plumbing repairs, and basic carpentry.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections of building systems and infrastructure to identify issues or potential hazards.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance work orders, ensuring repairs are completed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support HVAC, electrical, and plumbing technicians in higher-level repairs and installations.
  • Maintain logs of work performed and materials used using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, especially those specific to working in secure or restricted military environments.
