About The Position
The General Maintenance Technician at Aero Turbine Inc. is responsible for the repair and maintenance of various machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications. This role involves using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments to ensure that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The technician will observe mechanical devices in operation, listen to their sounds, and diagnose issues to locate the causes of trouble. Essential job functions include dismantling devices to access and remove defective parts, adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, and repairing or replacing defective parts. The technician will also lubricate and clean parts, operate metalworking tools such as lathes, drill presses, and grinders to make and repair parts, and initiate purchase orders for necessary parts and machines. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for repairing electrical equipment and performing routine maintenance on all test benches, lathes, presses, CNC machines, and other equipment within the facility. The role requires readiness to address emergency failures that may affect the facility's operations. This position demands a strong mechanical background, excellent customer service and communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The technician must be organized, practice safe work habits, and be able to follow instructions from technical orders while understanding drawings and prints.
