Performs basic carpentry, electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning, plumbing, flooring, doors and hardware, plastic or sheet metal fabrication, or associated work on plant facilities using hand and power tools. Dismantles, moves, assembles, installs, and repairs industrial machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions. Dismantles machines using proper equipment and hand tools; moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks. Assembles and installs equipment such as conveyors and tram rails using hand and power tools; constructs foundations; aligns machines; performs routine inspection and maintenance and may replace worn or broken parts and reassemble. Assists in the overhaul and repair of complex mechanical equipment as needed. May be required to troubleshoot equipment or facilities problems and reports them to supervisor. May interpret blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications. May perform routine inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary. Also the cleaning, inspecting, lubricating and filtration of equipment and any other support function necessary to keep Owego Facilities’ equipment and grounds functioning at an optimal level. Support of all General Maintenance, Electrical, Plumbing and overall general facilities support. The candidate will be expected to be on a rotating weekend coverage schedule, working 1 out of 8 weekends. Also will be expected to work extended hours during site shutdowns weekends and holidays. Requirements

  • Has the knowledge to perform routine repairs and all maintenance of plant and/ office facilities equipment.
  • Has the Knowledge to dismantles, moves, assembles, installs, and repairs industrial machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions.
  • Dismantles machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools; moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience of general mechanic and maintenance work.
  • Experience with operating, maintaining and troubleshooting facilities equipment.
  • Experience with carpentry, plumbing and electrical.
  • The basic knowledge in reading blueprints.
  • Able to plan, prioritize and execute all work independently and as part of the Owego Maintenance Team.
  • The candidate should also have a basic understanding and experience with Condition Based Maintenance and Reliability Centered Maintenance Techniques, Tools and applications
