About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join their Maintenance/Facilities team in Tampa, FL. The General Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance, general repairs, and light HVAC. They are responsible for ensuring that these systems function properly, providing comfortable and safe indoor environments. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:30pm, With rotating evenings and weekends for on-call purposes Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Job Responsibilities Performs specialized maintenance and/or repairs, i.e., electrical installations, HVAC, general carpentry, and plumbing. Assists in maintenance of all Facility equipment, i.e., Fire Sprinkler, air handlers. Organize and complete annual fire evacuation drill Test eye wash and eye showers weekly Review all department safety walks for accuracy and completeness. Follow up with supervisor for out of compliance items and employee non-compliance. Maintain SDS inventory (additions and deletions given to EHS Manager to update 3E) Maintain the display case with work-related safety documents Check that the sign off on Regulated Medical Waste logs is complete Perform and maintain records for noise testing, ergonomic testing, glove accommodations Submits electronic work orders where appropriate Performs specialized maintenance service of machinery/equipment or repairs Research, troubleshoot and resolve problems related to repairs of facility equipment Provide guidance to requested work orders and handles complex maintenance problems. Keeps leadership informed of progress, problems and any factors affecting assigned work Maintain files and records as required by department, company and various regulatory agencies Painting and patching as needed, and other duties as required Assist with storm weather preparation and severe weather conditions along with other trades as needed. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the Building or Maintenance Trade
  • Experience with electrical installations, carpentry, refrigeration and painting
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems
  • Strong computer and data entry skills
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and oral
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Flexibly to travel to other locations within the region
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift 50lbs

Nice To Haves
