General Maintenance Technician Lead - JLL What this job involves: We are seeking an experienced Lead General Maintenance Technician to oversee daily maintenance operations and lead a team of maintenance technicians. This role combines hands-on technical work with supervisory responsibilities, ensuring optimal building performance and tenant satisfaction while developing team capabilities.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
5+ years of building maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Commercial HVAC knowledge and basic electrical and plumbing skills.
Strong leadership and communication abilities are essential, as is the ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required, along with the physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various environmental conditions.
Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and basic computer skills are necessary.
Able to participate in-call rotation & work occasional evenings and weekends for emergency responses.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

EPA universal certification
Relevant trade certifications or technical school training, commercial building maintenance experience, and familiarity with building automation systems.
Experience with energy management and sustainability practices.

Responsibilities

Supervise and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, assigning work orders and ensuring quality standards are met consistently.
Perform and oversee preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems while responding to emergency maintenance requests and coordinating with external contractors and vendors.
Maintain detailed maintenance records and work order documentation, conducting regular building inspections to identify potential issues, and ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and building codes.
Participate in budget planning for maintenance supplies and equipment while implementing energy efficiency initiatives and cost-saving measures.
