About The Position

The Maintenance Tech II is essential for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all MSQC’s facilities and equipment.  This job involves performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards. Performs facility repairs, remodeling, and installations, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems. Key tasks include building and repairing custom shipping stations, repairing floors, walls, and ceilings, installing drywall, painting, wiring 120v to 480v circuits and executing minor construction additions using hand and power tools to ensure building safety and functionality.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certification is a plus.
  • Vocational training or apprenticeship in a relevant field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (i.e., HVAC or electrical certification) are advantageous.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar maintenance role (2-3 years).
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry, mechanical, electrical wiring, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Proficient with diagnostic, power tools and maintenance software.
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing and able to work effectively with co-workers and managers at all levels. 
  • Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read instructions and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and other documents.
  • Very good interpersonal skills - build, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships with those in contact during the course of work; keep a positive demeanor when interacting with company employees and customers. 
  • Strong ability to organize and multitask as well as follow up.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Routine Maintenance - conduct regular inspections of buildings and equipment; perform PM on mechanical, HVAC, and electrical systems from 24v to 480v, kitchen equipment, clean, oil, and replace parts as necessary to maintain equipment in good working condition.
  • Troubleshoot & Repair - diagnose mechanical issues & determine appropriate solutions; repair or replace defective parts in various systems including plumbing, and electrical, and HVAC, kitchen equipment Use diagnostic tools & equipment to identify and fix issues.
  • Facility Upkeep - ensure the building’s interior and exterior are well-maintained.
  • Building Repairs & Construction - repair, construct or alter building structures, including installing drywall / sheetrock, painting, staining decks and repairing floors, ceilings,decks and partitions. 
  • Carpentry & Structures - perform framing, repair doors, windows, and door hardware, and build custom fixtures, bookshelves, Custom shipping stations, or add additions to existing facilities.
  • Grounds & Facility Maintenance - maintain exterior structures, sidewalks, and parking areas.  Perform tasks like cleaning, minor roofing repairs, and installing flooring.
  • Safety & Compliance - ensure compliance with all safety standards and environmental regulations; maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs; monitor and control maintenance inventory, ordering parts and supplies as needed.
  • Emergency Response - respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests; provide on-call support as needed to address urgent issues outside of regular working hours.
  • Grounds Maintenance - gardening duties including watering of plants/flowers; trim lawns; pull weeds as needed; snow and ice removal as needed.
