About The Position

WinnCompanies is searching for a General Maintenance Technician - Flooring Specialist I to join our military housing team at Fort Campbell, KY. In this role, you will perform high velocity, production quality installations of floors, primarily during COM (Change of Occupancy Maintenance), while also performing repairs, cleaning, or installations, either at COM or as resident service requests. This position is located at a federal facility. In accordance with the REAL ID Act, effective May 7, 2025, a REAL ID compliant driver's license/ID is required in order to access the federal facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of work experience.
  • A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
  • Proficiency in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or appliances.
  • Ability to qualify as "skilled" based on assessment in flooring cleaning, repair, and installation.
  • Ability to provide basic tools and equipment necessary to perform daily duties.
  • Basic familiarity with computers and web-based applications.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.

Responsibilities

  • Install LVP, rolled goods, and sheet vinyl on production schedules with high quality.
  • Complete full home and partial home installs at high velocity.
  • Repair, clean, and install flooring (carpet, hard surface or other) in occupied homes.
  • Perform demolition of flooring or work on skilled projects, including ceramic and hard wood repairs or installations, as well as sub-floor repairs.
  • Complete service calls and COM work.
  • Complete repairs as directed by immediate supervisor or other organization management representatives.
  • Transport, install, and connect stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, and other electrical and gas appliances.
  • Transport equipment, furnishings and appliances to job sites, load and unload trucks.
  • Respond to and complete on-call after hours emergency and urgent repairs.
  • Operate power tools and power equipment.
  • Update work order status, including time, materials, and notes on mobile devices provided accurately and timely.
  • Keep supervisor well-informed of activities, results, and potential problems, while recommending corrective actions to supervisor.
  • Work cooperatively and conduct oneself professionally when in contact with customers, staff, sub/contractors, monitors, and the public.
