Requirements

  • High school diploma with minimum of two years of maintenance experience required.
  • Combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Must have valid Mississippi driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Painting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance duties as directed by Maintenance Manager to include, but not limited to: HVAC troubleshooting and repair, electrical troubleshooting and repair, facilities repair, minor construction, carpentry, sheetrock work, painting, moving, equipment maintenance/upkeep and repair, facilities and equipment inspections, grounds upkeep (not performed by landscaping crew), and general maintenance.
  • Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Make periodic inspections of facilities and vehicles to identify any needed repairs or corrections to meet safety and operational standards and to ensure compliance with regulating body standards (i.e. JCAHO, DOE, DOH, DHS, DMH, COA, and Medicaid)
  • Respond to requests for repair or relocation of equipment and furniture from Maintenance Manager.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase safety, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Investigate and resolve work problems, or assist coworkers in solving work problems.
  • Maintain time and production records.
  • Responsible for sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural/socioeconomic differences in the organization/program service population.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement activities related to Environment of Care.
  • Be on call as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned
