About The Position

Position is 15-30 hours per week. POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for basic maintenance duties such as painting, minor repairs, snow removal, grounds care, facility set up, as well as bulb and ballast changes. In the absence of the primary custodian, may also be responsible for custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, dusting, and window cleaning. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following, other duties may be assigned: Complete assigned maintenance projects in an efficient and competent manner. Safely operate motorized and static equipment as needed. In the absence of the primary custodian, maintain the cleanliness of the LCFYMCA facilities by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, vacuuming, and refilling restroom / locker room dispensers. Attend to emergencies when necessary. Record and report any maintenance issues or repairs. Report all incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor. Assist with the set-up of events. Child Protection Responsibilities: Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth. Participates in required abuse risk management training. Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors. Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements. Adheres to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months related experience required.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision.
  • Basic mechanical abilities.
  • Demostrated experience and knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
  • Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals and instructions.
