About The Position

The USF Research Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that enhances research activities of University faculty, staff, and students. It facilitates the transfer of discoveries and inventions from the University laboratory to the public, using generated funds to support further research. The Foundation manages royalties related to intellectual property and operates the USF Research Park, which includes multiple research and office buildings and a technology incubator. The organization is overseen by a Director & CFO and a Director of Operations, reporting to the Senior Vice President for Research, Innovation & Knowledge Enterprise. With approximately 10 employees and net assets of $69 million, the Foundation plays a vital role in the research ecosystem.

Requirements

• Experience in facilities management, particularly in a research or laboratory environment.
• Strong understanding of life safety regulations and standards relevant to research facilities.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale operations and maintenance activities.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with managing multiple buildings and complex facilities.
• Knowledge of technology incubators and their operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage the operations and maintenance of approximately 500,000 square feet of research lab, office, and collaborative space in the Research Park.
• Oversee the facilities across 6 buildings owned by the Research Foundation and additional buildings owned by third parties.
• Address non-standard life safety matters due to the nature of research work conducted on site.
• Ensure efficient and effective operations of the USF Research Park and its facilities.
