Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years in a related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately.
  • Ability to move equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to minimize waste of supplies and misuse of equipment.
  • Valid state driver's license and auto insurance coverage.
  • Ability to work independently and harmoniously with team members and the public.
  • Ability to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset individuals.
  • Must be fully up-to-date with required vaccinations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs of the community and equipment, including painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and carpentry.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance duties including filter changes and lubrication of motors.
  • Coordinate with contracted vendors on repairs or inspections.
  • Perform housekeeping duties in common areas, hallways, stairwells, and apartments as needed.
  • Participate in ERS's Emergency and Disaster Plan, assisting in the evacuation of residents during emergencies.
  • Carry a cell phone for emergency conditions and respond immediately when called.
  • Participate in after-hours on-call program as assigned.
  • Maintain the work order system, Worxhub, and document all work appropriately.
