About The Position

The General Maintenance Repair Worker provides general maintenance support to the Navy Medical Readiness Logistic Command (NMRLC) fleet of Civil Engineer Equipment (CEE) that supports Expeditionary Medical System (EXMEDS) mission. Duties of the General Maintenance Repair Worker include general and preventative maintenance of commercial vehicles and equipment. The General Maintenance Repair Worker prepares for storage and mobility deployment through operation, cleaning, inspecting, servicing, and towing vehicles, while maintaining accurate vehicle records. The position requires a detail-oriented and highly proficient individual that can adhere to published standards and guidance directed in local Standard Operating Procedures, Navy guidelines, and Department of Defense publications.

Requirements

  • Must have the ability to climb onto equipment to perform maintenance activities.
  • Must be knowledgeable in CEE types of equipment and Navy maintenance procedures.
  • Must be able to achieve license to operate various sizes of material handling equipment.
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a maintenance and repair work environment.
  • Must possess and current valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to understand, read, and write in the English language

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all general repairs and preventative maintenance to include initial and final inspections of Equipment
  • Performs routine and maintenance/repair support of commercial category passenger vehicles.
  • Makes repairs on commercial vehicles, commercial types of equipment, and tactical military ground equipment.
  • Prepares for storage and mobility deployment; and operates, cleans, inspects, and services towing vehicles. In addition to maintaining vehicle records, this mechanic maintains and updates paper and electronic equipment records.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of wheeled vehicles, including engines, transmissions, power train components, hydraulic systems, and fuel system components.
  • Perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs to keep vehicles in optimal condition.
  • Inspect, adjust, and test parts and systems to ensure functionality.
  • Plan work area layout for efficiency and safety.
