About The Position

Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a General Maintenance Mechanic 3. This position is defined as Essential Personnel and is located at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (SNGH) in Norfolk, Virginia. The role involves performing general maintenance on all aspects of building structure and systems, including floors, walls, ceilings, lighting, HVAC, transportation systems, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other items. The primary responsibilities include responding to elevator, tube station, and fire alarm trouble calls. Training will be provided during the second shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM) and/or first shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM).

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Drivers License (VA or NC).
• At least 1 full year of General Maintenance experience.
• Refrigerant Recovery certification Type I and Type II preferred or Universal preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance on building structures and systems.
• Respond to elevator, tube station, and fire alarm trouble calls.
• Maintain HVAC, transportation systems, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
