About The Position

The General Maintenance Mechanic at Vitro Architectural Glass is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks across electrical, mechanical, and welding disciplines. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while maintaining production levels. The position offers opportunities for training and skill development in specialized areas of plant maintenance.

Requirements

• High School degree required.
• Two (2) years of previous full-time General Maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required; Three to five (3-5) years of experience preferred.
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
• Must be able to safely operate a fork truck and maintain the required license.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and self-management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Computer proficient and able to navigate various software programs and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Exercise options for training to acquire knowledge and skills in specialized areas of plant maintenance.
• Improve knowledge and skills in reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, and electronic drawings.
• Perform maintenance work in electrical, millwright, pipefitting, and welding areas.
• Assist maintenance and production personnel to maintain high production levels safely and efficiently.
• Maintain knowledge of fire alarm codes and firefighting equipment usage.
• Complete reports, keep accurate logs, requisition materials, and account for materials and time spent on assignments.
• Complete specified training through job experience and prescribed schooling to progress in the General Maintenance Mechanic training program.
• Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to safety policies.
