About The Position

Tessera is seeking an experienced General Maintenance Worker lll with a positive and can-do attitude. The General Maintenance Worker III (GM-3) performs skilled to highly-skilled work in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, plumbing, electrical, structural, grounds, and equipment. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Responsible for a variety of tasks, including painting, carpentry, siding repairs/replacement, glass replacement in doors and windows, minor plumbing, masonry, concrete repairs and minor electrical work. Clean roof drains and gutters. Responsible for replacing electrical receptacles and switches, fixtures and bathroom exhaust fan motors. Responsibilities include using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls or ceilings. Responsible for repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets. Caulking plumbing kitchen fixtures Communicates and interacts directly with the customer and supervisors, informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs. Responds to customer inquiries and complaints. Ensure completed work meets quality control standards. Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customers and supervisors. Communicates with scheduler to update the status of repairs and estimate completion dates. Follow all Safety Procedures and Policies. Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor. Responsible for repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, decks, stoops, and sidewalks.

Requirements

  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
  • Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking.
  • Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work preferred.
