Beloit Health System is looking to add a General Maintenance II to our Engineering Team! Shift: 1st Schedule: 7a - 3:30p Hours per week: 40 Benefits Status: Eligible Department: Engineering The requirements of maintenance staff are wide and varied. Maintenance staff are responsible for corrective and preventative duties necessary to support the high reliability of buildings which contribute to the quality, value, and satisfaction of patients, residents, visitors, and staff. Ability to repair, maintain, and install faucet, toilet, sink and shower outlets. Ability to work outdoors to clean and maintain grounds and trash removal while maintaining safety from slips, trips, and falls at all properties at all times. Must be able to organize and prioritize multiple demands while maintaining a work order completion rate and closure in the TMS corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance work order system of five days or have valid reason for not maintaining the established completion rate. Demonstrate a working knowledge to maintain, troubleshoot, test and repair air handling units, terminal boxes, ductwork, and other HVAC airside equipment. I nstall and maintain heating/cooling, filtration, water equipment including coils, radiators, water softeners, water heaters and circulating pumps. Perform essential electrical system inspection, testing and maintenance activities. Document the results of these activities for regulatory compliance and respond appropriately if the equipment is deficient. Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment, ice and water equipment, and refrigeration/freezer equipment. Perform verification procedures to ensure equipment is operational according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Plan, create and place orders for spare parts to address urgent repair and maintenance needs. Maintain parts inventory. Demonstrate a working knowledge of code and other requirements for documentation procedures related to inspection, testing and maintenance. Demonstrate a working knowledge of the hospital, ambulatory surgical center, or other facilities accreditation process, recognize the agencies that perform surveys, and the typical compliance survey process and schedule. Implement and supervise physical environment programs that ensure compliance with accrediting organizations, CMS, OSHA, state departments of health and other regulatory agencies. Assure completion and maintenance of current, accurate and thorough records of all testing, inspection, and maintenance procedures to satisfy compliance requirements with applicable codes and standards. Review documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures; investigate and correct errors within designated scope of responsibility. Perform standard protocols for handwashing, gowning and using protective equipment. Demonstrate an understanding of the negative outcomes that could result from contamination. Use standard means and methods to prevent contamination and the spread of hospital-associated infections. Monitor, maintain, correct, and document air exchange rates and pressure relationships where required. Perform various containment, testing, treatment, and mitigation procedures to prevent the spread of infection. Demonstrates an understanding of immunocompromised patient risk, infection control, and patient/staff isolation in mobile containment or isolation units. Promote productivity and efficiency in the workplace. Observe and appropriately apply methods for overcoming distractions that prevent successful time management. Create and stick to deadlines and apply the appropriate recovery process when a schedule slip occurs. Transition or delegate tasks to others. Coordinate with third-party vendors and other customers to ensure all testing and maintenance projects and documentation are accurate and received in a timely manner. Plan, organize, prioritize, and assign work orders and special projects within the department. Modifies employee work schedules and shifts to satisfy the department staffing needs. Assume additional responsibilities as directed to achieve patient satisfaction. Proactively identify patient needs and expectations and strive to meet them with efficient, safe, and compliant facility operations. Keep users informed or updated on the status of equipment or facilities undergoing repair or renovation. Follow up on problems after work is completed or transferred to another team member. Greet patients, residents, and visitors and direct them to their proper destination. Make arrangements for escort and transportation services as required. Monitor restricted areas to ensure appropriate access. Use the AIDET and other customer service models when entering and working in a patient care environment.
