About The Position

Thompson Houston is now hiring new colleagues to join the hotel's engineering team. Set in a soaring 36-story skyscraper, Thompson Houston The Residences at the Allen is the city's newest and most fashionable landmark. This architectural marvel sets a stylish scene for influential locals, seasoned globetrotters, and cultural tastemakers to meet and connect, luxuriate, and celebrate. The hotel's coveted location in verdant Buffalo Bayou Park centers the property as a veritable oasis within the city. Newly opened in February 2024, this luxury oasis boasts 172 luxury guestrooms, including 34 breathtaking suites, and a private collection of 100 residences. Unmatched amenities include a full-service spa, a well-equipped fitness center, several destination restaurants, a private heliport, an expansive one-acre pool deck, and over 17,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event spaces. A General Maintenance will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting space, and front of the house areas. Guest room and public area entry-level preventative maintenance are included. A General Maintenance Engineer will also perform some repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment, requiring some skills and experience in these areas, as well as good communication skills. Strong troubleshooting skills (electricity, plumbing, etc.)

Requirements

3 years of experience in maintenance engineering or a related field.
Proven track record in managing maintenance operations effectively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Full availability must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues before they escalate
