About The Position

The General Maintenance Crewmember for Setups at Florida Southern College is responsible for the efficient setup and teardown of campus events, as well as the maintenance of campus grounds and buildings. This role involves coordinating logistics for events, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations while maintaining a reliable attendance record.

Requirements

  • Completion of the 10th grade is required; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of three years experience as a laborer, gardener, groundskeeper, or similar work involving general labor duties.
  • Ability to read English sufficiently to understand written work orders and instructions.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently as required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse constituents.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License and maintenance of a safe, valid driver's license throughout employment.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and timely set-up for all college functions.
  • Maintain and utilize the inventory of tables, chairs, tents, and grills.
  • Deliver supplies and furniture in a timely manner to all requesting departments.
  • Operate college vehicles to deliver supplies and furniture.
  • Coordinate the relocation of internal offices.
  • Comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Preserve punctual and reliable attendance.
