About The Position

The General Maintenance and HVAC Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks and responding to work orders submitted from multiple campuses across the Confluence Academies LEA.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of three (3) years' demonstrated experience working in related role
  • Electrical and HVAC certification(s) preferred or demonstrated extensive technical knowledge and training in HVAC and electrical systems maintenance and repairs
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret incident reports and work orders.
  • Ability to effectively problem solve, present information and respond to questions from staff, students, co-workers, and others.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and act accordingly.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all school system requirements and Board of Director policies.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work conditions and seasonal or peak projects during the calendar year.
  • Able to meet deadlines as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and repairs plumbing and installs plumbing fixtures.
  • Maintains and repairs interior and exterior windows and door hardware.
  • Maintains and repairs floors and ceiling tiles.
  • Maintains and repairs all playground and gym equipment.
  • Maintains and repairs restroom fixtures and partitions.
  • Performs variety of maintenance activities (carpentry, painting, drywall).
  • Installs, removes and repairs concrete.
  • Repairs and/or replaces lockers.
  • Installs and repairs window treatments.
  • Repairs and assembles various equipment and furniture as per work order requests.
  • Moves items and equipment within buildings and between campuses.
  • Performs pick-up and delivery tasks between campuses.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems including lighting, motors and controls.
  • Maintains various HVAC components including rooftop units, boilers, chillers and pumps.
  • Assists other maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Serves as a substitute custodian as needed.
  • Keep facilities safe and in compliance with local, state and federal standards.
  • Responsible for emergency maintenance and is on call outside of traditional business hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Performs other duties as requested by Director of Operations or as dictated by circumstances of growth and or planning.
