Requirements

Continuously pursues a certification in Bio-Medical Equipment Technology (CBET) through classrooms, training, seminars, and self-study.
Licensed electrician or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of blueprints with which to lay out minor projects.
Knowledge of electrical and pneumatic control, national electrical and national fire protection association codes.
Able to follow oral and written instructions.
Relevant experience required.

Responsibilities

Maintains and repairs electronic equipment, circuit breaker panels, electrical equipment, fire alarm, and nurse call and equipment controls.
Installs new electrical circuits, lights, motors, and equipment. Assists in electrical modifications. Infrequently removes motors of all weights, sometimes extremely heavy, from very cramped spaces.
Conducts annual inspections of the electrical distribution system.
Services, inspects, and repairs fire alarm and nurse call systems.
May be requested to perform general maintenance work when necessary. Will be on the stat call list during off normal hours (after 3:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday) to respond to stat calls. Employee will be eligible for stat call benefits as outlined in the administrative manual.
Works overtime and rotates shifts when required.
Maintains current knowledge of safety codes and regulations governing health-care facilities.
Performs assigned preventative maintenance within time frame allotted.
Is able to troubleshoot equipment and implement problem-solving plan.
Utilizes appropriate reference materials such as employee handbook, departmental procedures, safety manual, equipment manual, etc.
Exhibits dependability, including reporting to work on time and working all scheduled shifts.
Follows daily work schedule as assigned maintaining proper productivity standards.
Maintains all equipment in clean condition for the next shift.
Follows best safety practices in performing all job duties.
