The General Liability Claims Manager at Providence is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of general and professional liability claims within a designated region.   • Oversee day-to-day operations of general and professional liability claims.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and manage liability claims against the organization.
  • Maintain accurate claims files and documentation in claims data management software.
  • Coordinate with facility leadership, risk managers, and defense counsel to ensure compliance with claims reporting procedures.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to management on claims evaluations and trends.
  • Foster teamwork and effective communication within the claims team.
  • Review and analyze medical records and interview witnesses for claims investigation.
  • Set appropriate indemnity and expense reserves in collaboration with facility risk management.
  • Select appropriate medical experts for case review and develop action plans for claims resolution.
  • Negotiate settlements and monitor trials, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in general liability claims processing, management, legal experience, healthcare risk management, or general risk management.
  • Experience with a mix of general liability claims, including significant bodily injury claims.
  • Experience with STARS software.
  • Healthcare experience.
  • Certified Professional Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM).
