Westgate Resorts is seeking a General Liability Claims Adjuster experienced in managing litigation. This role involves taking ownership of complex, litigated claims from start to finish, collaborating with defense counsel, senior leadership, and multiple departments to ensure fair resolutions while protecting company interests. The adjuster will manage litigated files, partner with defense counsel and the VP of Risk Management to develop legal strategies, analyze reserves, prepare files for mediations, and present settlement evaluations. Additionally, the role includes investigating claims, attending hearings, and identifying subrogation opportunities to reduce litigation exposure.

  • Managing litigated files and documenting case activity throughout the life of the claim.
  • Partnering with defense counsel and the VP of Risk Management to develop legal strategies and negotiate settlements.
  • Analyzing reserves, preparing files for mediations, and presenting settlement evaluations.
  • Investigating claims, reviewing legal documents, and providing recommendations on handling represented cases.
  • Attending hearings, mediations, trials, and monthly Resort Safety meetings to represent the company’s interests.
  • Identifying subrogation opportunities, reducing litigation exposure, and supporting safety initiatives to prevent future claims.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to gather documentation and ensure compliance with internal programs and industry standards.
  • Proven experience in general liability claims adjusting, including litigation management.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in liability claims handling.
  • Valid Florida adjuster’s license required.
  • Preference given for college degree and completion of AICPCU course work, such as AIC, ARM, CPCU, and industry-specific continuing education.
