About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for general labor and maintenance duties at Doyon Associated’s in-town shop.
Location: Town
Hours: Town – 40+
Point of hire: Fairbanks
Position type: Regular Full-time
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand, practice, and continually lead by example Doyon’s commitment to zero incident safety and environmental culture.
General labor and maintenance at the shop directed from Equipment Superintendent.
Organize and clean the shop.
Remove snow and debris from the yard.
Assist mechanics as needed.
Work closely with the Equipment Superintendent as shop needs arise.
Other duties as assigned.

Ability to conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks for long hours and in various environmental conditions.
Ability to work in a team environment, take directions from supervisor(s), follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules.
Listen carefully and ask questions to understand the views, concerns, and comments of others.
Ability to proactively work in a high-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Ability to set and achieve goals and meet deadlines.
Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.

EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 1 year of experience to show a legacy of reliability and the ability to apply the necessary skills to perform the tasks required.
Valid Driver’s License.
Reliable means of transportation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds.
Stand and walk for extended amounts of time.
Work extended hours (scheduled and/or unscheduled, nights and/or weekends), occasionally, as needed or required to meet established deadlines.
