About The Position

American Crane & Equipment Corporation is hiring a General Laborer with a strong focus on sandblasting and surface prep to support our painting and fabrication operations. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
  • Ability to verify identity and employment authorization (Form I-9)
  • Eligibility to access information or technology governed by U.S. export control laws, where applicable
  • Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with applicable laws
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens during employment
  • Ability to meet the posted work schedule and work required hours
  • Ability to maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Willingness to follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Willingness to wear required PPE (respirators, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe footwear, etc)
  • Willingness to complete required safety and compliance training
  • Ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to maintain professional conduct aligned with company values

  • Experience with sandblasting, painting prep, or industrial surface preparation preferred
  • Manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial labor experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform sandblasting on large structural steel and industrial components to prepare surfaces for painting
  • Assist with painter prep tasks including grinding, cleaning, masking, and surface finishing
  • Ensure surfaces meet quality and cleanliness standards prior to coating
  • Properly set up, operate, and maintain sandblasting equipment
  • Follow strict safety, PPE, and environmental controls related to blasting operations
  • Assist with general labor tasks across production areas as needed
  • Handle material movement, cleaning, stocking, and shop organization
  • Support maintenance and housekeeping efforts to keep work areas clean and safe
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment after training
  • Assist with rigging and moving materials heavier than 50 pounds
  • Support basic production and maintenance tasks under supervision
