General Laborer

About The Position

ABX Innovative Packaging Solutions is seeking a General Labor candidate that will be promoted into a Wrapper position after a 90-day introductory period and training in our Production Department. This role will involve general labor duties supporting the wrapping and packaging operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
Basic math and reading skills to understand instructions and specifications
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

Forklift operating experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

In the course of his job, he/she employs clamp lift trucks, forklift trucks, and other mobile equipment.
Places returned to stock raw material in designated areas according to procedure.
Maintains warehouse and backyard in a manner consistent with good housekeeping standards. Leaves it cleaner than it was at start of shift.
Responsible for the lift truck assigned to him/her during his shift. Inspects forklift prior to beginning work. Reports any discrepancies to supervisor.
Transports raw material from storage area to prime POU for production orders according to material description. Verify correct material has been staged. Follow all company procedures and operational guidelines. Uses FIFO for all inventoried material.
Checks item number, and type of material placed at POU of the machines.
Works to reduce partial boxes of polyethylene and partial drums of chemicals and primers.
Returns moved material back to the same bin location or does a bin change sheet. Places rejected materials in the rejection area. Verifies all paperwork is attached.
Helps to wrap, cut cores, and keep floors clean in production and warehouse areas.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Finishing/shift supervisor.
