About The Position

A General Laborer is an entry-level position that performs general lumber mill responsibilities including stacking lumber and moving inventory. They are responsible for manual labor tasks and support production operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Execute daily work instructions including, but not limited to, stacking lumber off green chains and/or resaws. Learn and understand quality and stacking standards. Ability to or willingness to learn to operate material handling equipment. Assists in performing basic maintenance to equipment. Gain an understanding of mill operations and production processes. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to safety standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Attend all safety meetings and any necessary production meetings. Keep production area clean and free of hazards. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Reliable attendance
• Communicate effectively with any levels/departments within the organization
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry materials up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Requires the use of hands, tools, and equipment in an active production or construction environment.
• Must be able to climb, reach overhead, and operate machinery as needed.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) , including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and hard hat as appropriate .
• Must be able to safely perform duties in all weather conditions.
• May be to work extended hours, weekends, or shift work to meet production schedules.
