Smithfield Foods is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as General Laborer III on the 2nd shift in Omaha, NE. This position offers a competitive starting pay of $19.65 per hour, with an additional $0.75 per hour shift differential for 2nd shift positions. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or-two step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Responsibilities

• Link/loop and hang product on various lines.
• Correctly identify different types of products by placing the corresponding ID tag on sticks.
• Obtain ready to use sticks from the stickwash area to use once the line is operational.
• Open rework.
• Assist with set-up / shut down procedures.
• Remove trash from line before breaks.
• Identify, dispose of and weight any inedible product.
• Report weight to supervisor/lead.
• Follow GMPs, Safety and Quality Assurance rules and procedures.
• Wear required PPE.
• Ensure proper housekeeping throughout shift.
• Report any concerns to a member of management.
• Be certified to operate any PIT.
• Be LTT certified and follow all LTT procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
