Core Responsibilities Production employees at Smithfield handle materials and use hand tools, knives, machinery, and equipment to help deliver good food responsibly to America’s dinner table. Production team members at Smithfield perform physically demanding work that requires good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, strength and stamina. Team members must be available to work scheduled hours, which may include mandatory overtime, depending upon production demands.
Requirements
- All applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to read and verify product and rack tag per production schedule and/or oven paperwork.
- Must be walker trained or willing to be trained in order to operate electric walkers.
- Occasionally pushes up to 2,200 lbs of product.
- Need to be able to exert up to 10 lbs of force regularly.
- Need to be able to lift/exert 10 to 50 lbs of force occasionally.
- Required to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, climb, reach overhead and bend to the floor.

- Bilingual: English/Spanish is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Handle materials
- Use hand tools, knives, machinery, and equipment to help deliver good food responsibly
- Transfer product from ovens to blast to cooler.
- Perform other tasks as asigned.
