About The Position

Basalite Building Products, LLC is one of the largest manufacturers of concrete masonry products in the Western United States. Product lines include structural block, interlocking paving stones, engineered wall systems, retaining walls, ornamental and garden products, and a full range of sack goods. The General Laborer Block position is responsible for the accuracy of bag weights, additive dispensing, and all specialty products under the supervision of the Block Plant Superintendent. Requirements

• Requires basic math, reading and writing skills.
• Able to read the tape measure.
• On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties.
• Ability to operate forklift and any other equipment required to perform duties.
• Regular attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Stacks block by hand.
• Assist machine operator as needed.
• Teamwork player.
• Able to communicate any issues to your supervisor.
• Checks blocks for defects or contamination.
• Able to identify poor quality and bad splits.
• Performs hand batching of cement color, checking for quality.
• Keep the plant clean.
• Operates forklift and any other equipment required to perform duties.
• Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
• All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives.
• Regular attendance is required.
