About The Position

GMP Must be detail-oriented, flexible and willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises. Will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and dining room and public areas. Specific Duties and Responsibilities include maintaining a clean job site, material handling and storage, ensuring proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, and bringing problems to the attention of the Foreman or Safety personnel. The role requires some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in an industrial setting, as well as first aid and applicable safety precautions. The ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule is essential.

Requirements

  • No minimum education requirements.
  • No experience required.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and prepare sites, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials.
  • Assist other craft workers as needed.
  • Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day.
  • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
  • Bring problems to the attention of the Foreman or Safety personnel.
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
  • Gather and empty trash.
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
  • Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions.
  • Clean and restore building interiors damaged by fire, smoke, or water.
  • Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware and metal instruments.
  • Drive vehicles required to perform or travel to cleaning work.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
  • Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours.
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
