  • Maintain a safe work environment for yourself and other associates.
  • Operate mobile equipment in support of cleanup efforts in the various areas of the Mill.
  • Appropriately handle issues with equipment or paper when situations arise.
  • Maintain all documentation of daily and monthly rounds in accordance with the current standard operating procedures and documents contained in the employee training manual.
  • Monitor and make adjustments to the equipment, including visual checks for crossed ropes, machine jams, and other equipment malfunctions.
  • Assist crew during paper breaks in threading the paper and clean up debris per the standard operating procedure.
  • Perform daily housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Operate Forklift to retrieve supplies and remove paper debris from the floor.
  • Retrieve and distribute supplies from Stores for crew.
  • Monitor the quality of assembly output.
  • Read and understand technical drawings, and technical service or repair manuals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing practices and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills; verbal communication is vital in performing job functions safely.
  • Basic mechanical ability to make adjustments to the equipment to maximize production and ensure quality standards are met or exceeded.
  • Excellent attendance record with flexibility to work rotating shifts & overtime.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships, demonstrate a positive attitude and consideration towards fellow employees and supervision.
  • Perform all duties in an independent manner with minimal direction and supervision.
  • 2 years of heavy industrial machine operator, military, or mechanical experience.
  • Ability to read and write is required.
  • Computer literacy: MS Office, PLC and DCS experience.
