This position is responsible for entry level non-skilled general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Applicants will be considered for any general labor type opening on First shift (Days). Applicants will be considered for any openings in the Beef, Ground Beef and/or Pork departments. Jobs are fast paced and require repetitive motion. Some positions require lifting and pulling up to 40 pounds. All work is performed in a cold and damp environment with temperatures ranging from 36 – 42 degrees and require standing eight (8) to twelve (12) hours per day. Applicants must be willing to work with knives, if required, and wear all proper safety equipment and must be willing to work overtime and weekends, if required. Must be willing or able to: Grasping: Jobs could involve use of a pinch grip to pick the product from the conveyor, place it correctly in the proper trays and return the product to the conveyor. Walking: Jobs involve standing/walking 8-12 hours per day on a production line. Reaching: The employee reaches approximately 10 to 25 inches to remove product from the conveyor, arranges the product according to specifications in the trays, places the trayed product on the correct conveyor. Lifting: Jobs involve lift, push, pull up to 40 lbs. Standing: The employee stands on concrete, grate or a fiberglass ergonomic platform depending on the needs and height of the team member. Force: Light force is required when performing these jobs. Work Duty: Simultaneous use of both hands is required when performing this job. The temperature of the work area ranges from approximately 36 to 42 degrees Fahrenheit. Employees are encouraged to dress appropriately before they arrive at their workstation.
