About The Position

The General Laborer supports daily manufacturing operations by assisting in multiple production areas including press operations, weld shop support, and final assembly in the plastics area. This role is responsible for safely producing high-quality components and finished products used in the manufacturing of racks and reels. The position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required
Ability to read basic work instructions and blueprints (preferred)
Basic math and measurement skills
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn multiple processes

Ability to stand and walk on concrete for extended periods (8–10 hours per shift)
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally with assistance
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching, including overhead reaching
Ability to push and pull carts, racks, and materials
Continuous use of hands for gripping, lifting, and using hand and power tools
Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as loading/unloading presses and assembling parts
Ability to see and inspect parts for quality and defects
Ability to hear and respond to instructions and equipment sounds in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work in conditions that may include noise, heat, dust, and welding fumes
Required to wear appropriate PPE at all times, including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, and hearing protection
Ability to safely perform all job duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

Assist with the setup and operation of mechanical or hydraulic presses
Load and unload materials and parts into press equipment
Inspect parts for defects and ensure conformance to specifications
Perform basic measurements using gauges, tape measures, or calipers
Maintain clean and organized work areas around press equipment
Assist welders by preparing materials (grinding, cleaning, staging parts)
Move materials and completed weldments using carts, forklifts (if trained), or cranes
Perform basic grinding, deburring, and finishing of welded parts
Support weld shop organization and workflow efficiency
Follow all welding safety procedures and PPE requirements
Assemble components and finished products for racks and reels
Install plastic components and ensure proper fit and alignment
Use hand tools and power tools as required for assembly
Inspect finished products for quality and completeness
Prepare products for shipment, including packaging and labeling
Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times
Maintain quality standards and report defects or concerns immediately
Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors
Cross-train and assist in other departments as needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment (5S practices)
Accurately complete production paperwork or system entries as required
