General Labor – Metal Recycling Yard
About The Position
Overview: Allied Alloys, a leader in the metal recycling industry, is seeking hardworking and reliable General Laborers to join our team. This is a hands-on position working in our recycling yard, where we process and reclaim scrap metals for reuse in environmentally responsible ways. This role is ideal for individuals who are safety-focused, physically capable, and comfortable working outdoors or around heavy equipment. Key Responsibilities: Follow safety protocols at all times and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) Sort and separate various types of scrap metal Operate machinery such as forklifts, skid steer, crane or crusher (training provided) Use hand and power tools (saws, torches, etc.) to dismantle or cut metal materials Load, unload, and move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment as needed Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas Perform other general labor and support duties as assigned by supervisors
Requirements
- Previous experience in a recycling yard, warehouse, or industrial setting is a plus but not required
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing for long periods)
- Willingness to work in a dirty, noisy, and outdoor environment in all weather conditions
- Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team
- Forklift or equipment operation experience is a plus but not required
- Must pass drug screen
- Must pass background check
- Must be at least 18+ years old
