About The Position

The General Production Labor position provides hands-on support to production operations by performing a variety of manual and production-related tasks as assigned. This role supports product flow, quality, and efficiency while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies, food safety standards, and procedures in a fresh food manufacturing environment. Specific roles include Backup Rehanger, responsible for placing dropped birds on the overhead eviscerating shackle line, adjusting pinning line speed, hanging empty shackles, and removing missed paws. The Inspector/Sorter evaluates product quality while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The Utility Laborer maintains continuous product flow, supports production operations, relieves Team Members for breaks, fills in during labor shortages, and performs various production support tasks, all while adhering to Tyson policies, food safety standards, and procedures.

Responsibilities

Perform assigned production tasks to support processing, packaging, and material handling operations
Assist with product handling, sorting, stacking, and staging as required
Maintain continuous product flow to prevent downtime or congestion
Monitor product for quality defects and report concerns promptly
Assist line operators with setup, changeovers, and general line support
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and equipment
Remove waste, scrap, and recyclable materials according to plant procedures
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and supervisor instructions
Follow all food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and allergen control requirements
Comply with OSHA regulations and Tyson safety policies
Use required PPE and follow safe work practices
Perform other duties as assigned

Assist supervisors by responding quickly to changing production needs
Identify and report safety hazards, equipment issues, or product concerns immediately
Maintain cleanliness and organization of production areas, tools, and equipment
Comply with all Tyson policies, OSHA regulations, USDA requirements, and food safety guidelines
Perform other duties as assigned to support production and operational goals
