About The Position

The position is located in Forest Park, IL, and requires the ability to work overtime, including varying start and end times, as well as weekends depending on business needs. The primary responsibility is to put candy removed from the Mogul into trays and cases. The role involves adhering to established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), checking production schedules, conducting quality checks, and ensuring compliance with safety methods. The employee will also be responsible for minor troubleshooting of equipment and monitoring production processes.

Requirements

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to operate hand jack.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Able to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Able to communicate effectively in English; Spanish is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience/training.
• Possess basic arithmetic skills.
• Promote teamwork and exhibit flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to all FPC established GMP’s.
• Checks production schedules and candy being removed from the dry rooms.
• Conducts assigned work in a safe manner.
• Conducts change overs.
• Conducts quality checks on the candy being removed.
• Ensures correct finishing agents are used.
• Observes and reports substandard candy to the Mogul Operator.
• Communicates production information to the Mogul Operator and peers.
• Conducts minor troubleshooting of equipment.
• Operates machinery such as the sander, oiler, and Swecos.
• Records equipment downtime and tags trucks/pallets.
• Monitors scales for correct weights in accordance with SOPs.
• Acts as a back-up to the Candy Catcher in their absence.
