About The Position

The General Helper position at International Paper involves working in a manufacturing environment where the ability to work any shift is essential, including some 12-hour shifts to meet customer demands. The role requires previous manufacturing experience and involves moving products using conveyors, working around crosswalks, and sometimes from elevated platforms. Responsibilities include transporting products and materials, completing required paperwork for tracking inventory and downtime, and performing various tasks such as counting and stacking finished products, reading factory orders, and ensuring quality control. The General Helper will also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the work area.

Requirements

• Previous manufacturing experience required.
• Ability to work any shift.
• Ability to perform tasks in a timely fashion while following safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work any shift, including some 12-hour shifts.
• Transport products and materials including ink buckets, stitch wire boxes, coils of strapping, and oversized cutting dies.
• Complete required paperwork for tracking inventory and downtime.
• Perform computer data entry related to production metrics.
• Count and stack finished products.
• Read factory orders and accurately read gauges and other test equipment.
• Utilize basic shop math and inspect products.
• Complete quality and administrative documents accurately.
• Perform clean-up functions such as blowing down machines, cleaning ink systems, and vacuuming.
