Oakland County is looking for a dependable team member who takes pride in organization, efficiency, and supporting others through reliable delivery and inventory support. In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring departments receive the materials and supplies they need to serve the community.

Requirements

  • Have passed their 18th birthday; OR be at least 16 years old and a high school graduate; OR have completed the state requirements for the General Educational Development Test (GED); OR be an emancipated minor.
  • Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical established for this classification.
  • NOTE: A valid United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license will be required for certain positions. Out of Country driver’s license holders will be required to obtain the appropriate valid State of Michigan driver’s license before the hire date.
  • Successfully complete the six month probationary period.
  • Must maintain a valid United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license (for positions which require driving).

Responsibilities

  • Lift, transport, and deliver bulky supplies, mail, and materials (typically up to 50 pounds) using a County vehicle.
  • Prepare materials for delivery by organizing and loading items onto carts or pallets.
  • Receive shipments and transport supplies from loading areas to central storage locations.
  • Maintain inventory by receiving, storing, and issuing a variety of stock items.
  • Deliver materials to various locations within the assigned department.
  • Maintain records related to deliveries, inventory, and services provided.
  • Operate office equipment and systems necessary to support departmental recordkeeping.
  • Assist with general physical and clerical tasks related to materials handling and inventory management.
