About the position

The General Help position in the Production department involves following all standards and general manufacturing procedures. The role requires reviewing the current production run and communicating information with other employees on the same line or area. Responsibilities include completing required work such as Quality Check sheets, dough schedule recording, taking temperatures of products, maintaining housekeeping, and working in a safe manner. The position also involves communicating any issues to the proper Supervisor or Manager. Safety is a key aspect of this role, as it requires maintaining a safe working environment for all employees and promoting safety in all areas of operations. Additionally, sanitation is important, requiring the maintenance of cleanliness in the work area and adherence to proper Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.'s). Other related duties may be assigned by the Production Supervisor or Lead Person.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all standards and general manufacturing procedures
  • Review list of the current production run
  • Communicate information with other employees on the same line/area
  • Complete required work including Quality Check sheets, dough schedule recording, taking temperatures of product, housekeeping and working in a safe manner
  • Communicate any issues to the proper Supervisor or Manager
  • Maintain a safe working environment for all employees/contractors
  • Promote safety in all areas of operations
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area
  • Follow proper G.M.P.'s at all times
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor or Lead Person

Requirements

  • Ability to arrive to work on time consistently
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes on the production line
  • Able to read, comprehend and practice necessary safety procedures, signs, etc.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds, stack, and/or carry pans, ingredient containers, etc.
  • Must be able to work around and with various food machinery equipment
  • Must be able to measure ingredients and follow written instructions
  • Ability to stand and/or stoop for the full shift
  • Ability to work in a loud, hot work environment
  • Willing to work irregular and/or rotating shifts, including split days off (non-consecutive days off)
  • Working holidays and weekends is frequently required
  • Must be 18 years or older
