Requirements

• M.D or D.O
• License to practice medicine in Louisiana
• Completion of an internal medicine residency.
• Completion of a gastroenterology fellowship.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients for gastroenterology illnesses and disorders.
• Develop a plan of care for each patient, including complete medical history, physician examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and/or referral.
• Confer with consulting physicians, nurses, patients and patients family concerning treatment and care of patients.
• Refer those cases that require specialist services but maintain responsibility, assuring that continuity of care is provided.
• Frequent travel to worksites in New Orleans area.
