About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working on machinery in industrial, marine, railroad, or plant environments.
  • Leadership and management experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of safety program methodology and its application.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 or more years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in PC skills including Microsoft Suite and Asset Management programs.
  • Ability to act as sole supervisor when required.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the operation of an area performing inspections, repairs, maintenance, and modifications for cars and locomotives.
  • Supervise equipment inspection, maintenance, and repair programs to increase equipment availability and reliability.
  • Lead the shift and maintain oversight responsibility for communication of mechanical and safety issues.
  • Utilize the Safety Management System to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Oversee scheduling and execution of work orders for assigned equipment, including preventive maintenance.
  • Review daily reports to ensure proper documentation of inspections and work order results.
  • Monitor availability and reliability metrics, evaluating problem areas promptly.
  • Participate in Maintenance Effectiveness Reviews for the Reliability Centered Maintenance program.
  • Ensure proper training for foremen and mechanical craft employees in maintenance procedures.
  • Implement safety plans and programs related to mechanical services.
